When I first began practicing law, I was fortunate to work with a firm that had a tremendous variety of cases which provided me the opportunity to try a range of different areas of the law, including a large number of family, criminal defense and personal injury cases. I later chose to focus on criminal and family law because I found most satisfying the cases in which I could help people have closure and relief when they were in very personal stressful situations. To this end, I became a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and strengthened my knowledge of both misdemeanor and felony cases. I then joined with Cynthia Hogan, and returned to family law and criminal defense. While in private practice, I also was a public defender in Allen County, Indiana, defending hundreds of misdemeanor cases. Although I enjoyed serving the community in this capacity and believe that all individuals should have high-quality legal representation regardless of income, I resigned from that position because I wanted to be able to devote more time to my private clients. In March 2016, I opened my own law office under Toole Law Offices, PC. Although I still occasionally handle other types of cases, my focus remains on criminal and family law. I have helped people through all sorts of family issues: divorce, custody and parenting time, support, and a whole variety of situations that are unique to each family. I work to help my criminal clients have a fair resolution, whether it be by plea or by trial. I strive every day to earn the trust and confidence my clients have placed in me. I chose the path to help others through difficult times, and that has made all the difference.
